Herbal remedies used in treatment for uterine fibroids work on the premise that any herb which affects the levels of estrogen will in turn affect the uterine fibroid tumors and cause it to shrink or increase in size. Which are the popular herbs effective in uterine fibroid treatment used popularly to shrink the size of fibroid tumors?

1. Dandelion, milk thistle seed, or yellow dock root strengthen the liver. This in turn, metabolizes estrogen out of the body, thus preventing the growth of fibroids.

2. Vitex or chaste berry tincture works directly with the pituitary gland thereby balancing the entire hormonal system. For uterine fibroid treatment it is recommended to take its 25-30 drops two to four times daily. When you make use of this herb in treatment for uterine fibroids the results will be there for you to see only after a few months. However this is a very potent and effective fibroids cure and you may have to use it for a year or two to completely get rid of your problem.

3. Warm castor oil packs and ginger compresses on the belly will also help in uterine fibroid treatment.

4. Poke root which is used by herbalists both internally and externally as belly rub oil, relieves the pain and distress associated with fibroid tumors. This herb is poisonous and hence must be used under supervision of a qualified herbalist only.

You must include plenty of whole grains and beans in your daily diet. Although this is not a herbal remedy for uterine fibroid treatment it will help reduce the size of fibroids and will keep you protected from the risks of breast and endometrial cancers.

To make it easy for women to resort to herbal solutions for uterine fibroid treatment a systematic plan has been developed by a renowned herbalist that is available on the internet. I used it in my treatment for uterine fibroids and was able to cure my condition successfully.
I am an ex banker turned home maker. As soon as I reached the age of 40 I started experiencing a number of typical “women’s problems”. Like most others I too always resorted to modern medicines as my first line of treatment. Needless to say it was always accompanied by a number of side effects. Sick and tired of bearing up with the side effects I decided to do some research of my own. Thanks to internet I came across ideas and methods of natural cure for most of these typical women’s issues. I have tried these out personally and now am a strong believer in nature cure. Nature Cure is absolutely safe, has no side effects and offers permanent solution for most of our problems.

If you have been diagnosed with uterine fibroids, then you may have a lot of questions. Treatment may depend on what organs are affected by your tumors. Your symptoms may also have a bearing on decisions about how to go about treating the uterine fibroids.

If you have mild uterine fibroids, then you may be able to only treat the symptoms. This usually includes pain management and hormone suppression therapy to inhibit the progressive growth of the fibroids. In many cases, this type of treatment only delays an inevitable surgical removal of tumors, hysterectomy or embolization.

Surgery is used to remove tumors from the uterus one at a time. The procedure is called a myomectomy and is usually preferred over a hysterectomy. Uterine fibroids used to almost always mean a hysterectomy where the entire uterus is removed. Surgical advances have made it possible for many women to only need a myomectomy. Sometimes tumors can grow back and more than one surgery may be necessary. Myomectomy is almost always used over a hysterectomy if the woman is of a reproductive age. Uterine fibroids can interfere with fertility, but with treatment, having children is generally not out of the question.

Uterine artery embolization is the newest form of treatment for uterine fibroids. This is a non-surgical procedure and is far less invasive than previous forms of treatment. Tumors are like living extensions of your uterus. They need a blood supply to thrive and grow. Uterine artery embolization cuts off that blood supply.

X-rays are generally taken to identify arteries that supply the uterine fibroid tumors. Then a needle is injected into the artery. The needle is used to inject small particles into the artery. This inhibits blood flow and cuts off the tumor’s blood supply. The tumor should shrink over time and the embolization can also stop dangerous bleeding inside of your uterus.

If you choose to have the uterine artery embolization procedure, you can expect that the procedure will be fairly easy and painless. You will most likely be given a sedative and the procedure itself should leave no visible scars. However, as the tumors die off, they release toxins. This can cause severe pain that can last for several days. You may choose to stay in the hospital overnight for pain management after the procedure. Most people can go home after that first night and manage their own pain with medications at home.

She's decided against terminating the pregnancy, and the tumor is expected to continue growing – gestationally speaking, it will be as though she is carrying twins.

She is under a doctor's care, but the point in asking this question is to fill in the gaps in my own understanding (she and I haven't been able to speak at length about this since she found out).

If you have fibroids and are contemplating have a baby, you may be wanting an answer to the question, “How do fibroids affect pregnancy?”. The truth is that there are a number of ways fibroids can impact upon various aspects of pregnancy, but the main thing to remember is that the majority of women who have fibroids will go on to have a successful conception, a healthy pregnancy and a straightforward delivery.

Fibroids affect a large proportion of the female population and in most cases, they go undetected. However, for a smaller number of women, fibroids cause terrible symptoms and these become of greater concern if you are hoping to start a family.

For some women though, things are not quite so simple. One common way how fibroids affect pregnancy is due to their size and location. If fibroids are situated close to the entrance of the fallopian tubes or the cervix, they can simply block the passage of sperm, particularly if they are large. If they are located within the uterus, larger fibroids (particularly subserosal) can distort the uterine cavity and this can cause implantation to fail or for a very early miscarriage to happen, even before the women knows she is pregnant. Later in pregnancy, fibroids can sometimes cause an early delivery, although in the majority of cases, this is usually close to term and will not harm the baby.

Also, fibroids affect pregnancy more rarely, by causing pain and bleeding during the middle trimester. Although this is rarely a serious problem, it can cause pain and many women may worry that they are losing the pregnancy. If this happens, you should seek advice and reassurance from your doctor.

It is worth knowing that fibroids rarely enlarge during pregnancy and will, in some cases, actually reduce in size. However, you may wish to take measures to reduce the size of them and their symptoms before conception.

If you would like to see details of a 7 Step Plan which has been developed by an alternative practitioner, you can find full details of the 7 Step Plan for curing fibroids naturally at Shrink Fibroids.
What are Fibroids?: Fibroids are benign growths in the uterus. Depending on their location, symptoms of fibroids may be heavy menstrual bleeding, pain, or pressure on the bladder, bowels or back. Fibroids are the most common benign tumor in humans, affecting 40% of women over 40 years of age. They are the reason for one third of all hysterectomies [removal of the uterus] performed each year in the United States. Slightly larger numbers of African American women are affected with fibroids, but they cause suffering for women of all ages and ethnic groups. Symptoms of Fibroids: Uterine fibroids cause different symptoms depending on the fibroids size and position within the uterus. Fibroids may be within the wall, where they are called intramural fibroids. They can be outside the uterus, where they are termed subserosal fibroids. If the fibroids are within the cavity of the uterus they are referred to as submucous fibroids. Submucous fibroids often cause heavy bleeding. Such fibroids need not be large to cause life threatening bleeding. Menstrual bleeding may be very heavy, or a patient may have bleeding outside of the regular cycle of period bleeding. Such fibroids may also cause a woman who is pregnant to miscarry. Subserous and intramural fibroids often cause pain and pressure in the pelvic area. Patients complain that their fibroids cause them to urinate often, and not completely empty their bladder. Similarly, fibroids in this position may cause pressure on the rectum …
Help answer the question about uterine fibroid tumors
Abdominal Myomectomy for Uterine Fibroid Tumors?
I have done my research, so I am really looking for answers based on the personal experience of other women. PLEASE, serious responses only.

Background: I'm 34 and I have uterine fibroid tumors, diagnosed by internal ultrasound. 2 of the 3 are quite large. 1 is pedunculated. I know that small, asymptomatic fibroids are commonly left untreated, but in my case, my doctor recommends removal because of the size and my symptoms. My symptoms include pain, enlarged abdomen, bladder/urinary issues, pain during intercourse and even tampon use, dysfunctional vaginal bleeding (like a period, but for 2+ wks of the month, in addition to my week-long, heavy period), etc. My doctor also recommends surgery because removal will increase my chances (from my current state) of being able to conceive later.

In my case, my doctor determined that the only surgery available to me is abdominal myomectomy. (There are less evasive treatments including medications and laparoscopy, but I do not qualify for them.) This surgery involves a 4-5" horizontal incision in my abdomen and an incision in the uterine wall once the uterus is lifted out through the incision. If I am later able to conceive, and if I successfully carry a child near term, I will have to have a planned C-section birth a few weeks early due to the weakening of the uterine wall.

I know there are risks as with any surgery (blood loss, anesthesia issues, etc.). The possible complications for this specific surgery include infertilization, unexpected hysterectomy, excessive scar tissue, recurrence of the fibroids, etc. For me, my desire for a normal quality of life and my hope of having children both outweigh the risks.

My questions are:

(1) How long will this surgery take to recover (i.e., when may I walk and sleep without excruciating pain, return to the desk part of my job, exercise – cardio, situps)? My research says it takes 2-6 weeks to return to work, varying from person to person. I am healthy, relatively active, and have a fairly high tolerance of pain. Can anyone similar to me describe the approximate recovery time?

(2) What other personal experience can you share (i.e., post-surgery pregnancy, infertilization, surgery complications, recurrence, pregnancy complications/miscarriage, etc.)?

(3) If you did experience infertilization (not caused by unexpected hysterectomy), is In Vitro still an option?

THANK YOU!!

Almost 30% of women suffer from fibroids at some point of time in their lives. This 30% does not include cases which remain undiagnosed. This aspect of fibroid tumors makes the treatment for uterine fibroids all the more difficult. In case fibroids are detected in the early stages when the tumor is small in size, natural uterine fibroid treatment is very effective.

Research has indicated that fibroids are particularly common among African American women. Fibroid tumor size ranges from the size of a peanut to grapefruit. In some cases these tumors cause no symptoms. In others there could be a variety of symptoms including heavy periods, abdominal pain, pressure on the rectum and bloating.

Many natural treatment methods are available these days to shrink uterine fibroid tumors. In fact more and more women are opting for natural treatment for uterine fibroids. Natural treatment primarily involves

a) Understanding our body and how it responds to what we eat

b) Understanding the effects of environmental factors on our health and

c) Paying attention to our diet.

If you wish to shrink uterine fibroid tumors naturally you must pay particular attention to:

Environmental factors

There are a number of harmful estrogen mimicking compounds derived from environmental toxins and pesticide residues. These compounds often get locked in our liver and fuel the growth of fibroids. A number of chemicals contained in washing detergents and cosmetics also mimic estrogen. Plastic containers which we make use of in our daily life to store food and water also release these estrogen mimicking chemicals. To stay away from fibroids it makes sense to switch over to chemical free detergents and cosmetics and start using glass containers for food and water storage.

Food

Fresh fruits are loaded with vitamins and bio- flavanoids. Kiwi fruit and blueberries are especially useful for fibroid cure. In general ensure that you eat 4-5 servings of fresh seasonal fruits each day. Make sure that you wash them thoroughly and eat it with the skin in raw form wherever possible. Similarly include fresh raw vegetables in your diet. In case you find it difficult to consume raw vegetables, steam it lightly. Do not overcook as it may result in loss of essential nutrients.

Onion and garlic are particularly useful in uterine fibroid treatment. Eating unhealthy processed foods adds to toxins being accumulated in our body. This can also contribute to fibroids. Hence it is best if you eat fresh foods and stay away from prepackaged variety.

Liver Detox

In case your liver is not functioning properly excess estrogen will remain trapped in the body. This in turn will boost the growth of fibroids. Therefore most natural uterine fibroid treatment methods lay emphasis on liver detoxification. Taking liver-supporting herbs like lemon juice, dandelion root, milk thistle and turmeric as a part of your daily diet can also be very useful.

In case you have fibroids I am sure you would have already evaluated all possible options available for treatment for uterine fibroids. In case you have consulted a doctor you may have been advised either to leave the condition unattended or resort to surgery.

The mere thought of surgery scares most women and rightfully so. Surgery implies very important factor removal of the womb. Why go in for it in case you have the option of natural treatment for uterine fibroids? In any case it is better than leaving your fibroid tumors unattended.

The interesting fact about uterine fibroid tumor is that it is difficult to pinpoint its cause in any individual with certainty. The probable cause of fibroids is many and varies from one woman to the other.

Natural treatment for uterine fibroids aims to eliminate each and every possible cause of fibroids in a systematic matter and the same time helps in shrinking the size of the existing fibroid tumors. This type of uterine fibroid treatment includes a number of aspects like dietary changes, lifestyle alterations, herbal remedies and detoxification.

In case you have done research to understand fibroids, you may have come across a lot of information on all these aspects of fibroid treatment with the exception of liver detox.

Why is liver detox important? Estrogen, one of the common causes of fibroids can lodge itself in the liver and result in robust growth of fibroids. Estrogen mimicking substances which have originated from environmental toxins or pesticides are the primary reason for this. To get rid of these toxins, a liver detox is a must. Natural treatment for uterine fibroids makes use of fasting and herbal remedies such as milk thistle for liver detoxifation. Foods which have natural anti-inflammatory properties such as oats can also have a calming effect on tumors and is usually recommended as part of the treatment plan.

The absence of an effective method of natural treatment for uterine fibroids led a renowned herbalist to develop an online product with a view to reach out to maximum number of women suffering from fibroids.

Since fibroids are rarely life threatening it would be wise on your part to go in for such natural treatment for uterine fibroid tumors before you consider surgery and conventional medicines.

Do you want to get rid of Uterine Fibroids permanently?

Intra literally means inside, hence intramural fibroids are tumors planted inside the uterine wall. In this article I will be explaining the symptoms and fibroid treatment options available for this most common type of fibroids.

Intramural tumor grows inside the uterine wall resulting in the uterus feeling and looking larger. This can make the woman look pregnant, or have a pot belly which will not go away despite dieting or exercise.

The common symptoms of this type of tumor include:

Excessive bleeding

Pain in the Pelvic region and back

Frequent urination

May be responsible for infertility and miscarriages

Pressure in the bladder and uterus

Based on whether the intramural fibroids are close to the outside of the uterus or the endometrium, the symptoms will be similar to submucosal or subserous fibroids.

In extreme cases if the size of these fibroids is large, it may block the blood supply, oxygen and nutrients to other body organs like kidneys. In some patients very large intramural fibroids may also cause permanent damage to the kidneys.

Medical research has indicated that this type of fibroid can have a negative impact on the woman’s fertility and result in miscarriages. Woman with this problem are also at a greater risk of undergoing premature delivery or a caesarean.

Intramural uterine fibroid treatment options are:

1. Abdominal myomectomy is the most common intramural fibroid treatment option. This treatment is particularly recommended if

a) The size of the fibroids are more 5 or 7 centimeters, or

b) There are multiple fibroids which need to be removed.

Uterine Artery Embolization is the second fibroids treatment option which can be considered.

Women with fibroids normally respond extremely well to natural remedies. This is true in case of intramural fibroids also. In rarest of cases where the fibroids can be life threatening or the symptoms severe, it would be worthwhile to pursue surgery or hormonal uterine fibroid treatment option. In all other cases fibroid cures is possible with natural remedies. In my opinion you should first give a try to natural methods to shrink your fibroids.

At www.sivr.net we use uterine fibroid embolization (UFE) procedures for Uterine Fibroid Tumors. UFE procedures takes 1 hour and recovery time would be 4 hours and very next day they can able to walk around. Our uterine fibroid embolization treatment changes the life of many critical women suffering from Uterine Fibroid Tumors.
Help answer the question about uterine fibroid tumors
Large uterine fibroid tumors?
Did anyone who had large fibroid tumors in uterus successfully go another route than surgery to deal with the problem of pain, etc. My gyne told me my uterus has doubled in size since Januaary, I have two large fibroids, and there is no other option than partial hysterectomy. I'm in lots of discomfort as my uterus is pushing against my bladder and stomach but I would like to avoid surgery if possible. Thanks.
