Probiotics are beneficial cultures that, when eaten in adequate amounts, can truly help improve our digestive health, promote regularity and enhance our immune system, thereby, benefiting our general health in numerous ways.
Probiotics can be taken in gel-cap form or enter our system by eating foods that have probiotics added to them. The interesting thing is that we need to know just how much we need per serving, which is something that has a least a billion bacteria per serving. To help your digestive system, it is necessary to look for those products that have been labelled with the type and the amount of live bacteria in them. Strains of Bifdobacterium and Lactobacillus have been shown by researchers to be of some benefit. But, if you stick to the billion bacteria per serving, you will be doing yourself and your system a real favor.
You may ask, why probiotics? Although we have millions of good bacteria living in our body, we need to have these good bacteria replenished when the body is in exhaust mode, and our digestive system seems to be needing help. By adding gut-friendly bacteria to our systems, the Canadian Research and Development Center for Probiotics, says we can aid digestion, prevent diarrhea and reduce the symptoms of lactose intolerance.
Our own friendly bacteria can be drastically reduce by antibiotics, gastrointestinal illnesses, bad bacteria or just in time, they grow less and less, perhaps by other chronic illnesses, or viruses. The Canadian Research and Development Center director, Gregor Reid, has been studying inner microbes for 25 years and he feels we need to nourish our gut-friendly bacteria (good bacteria) on a regular daily basis.
Once found only in fermented milk products such as yogurt and kefer, now we have that beneficial bugs (probiotics) are added to juices, cheeses, granola and other snack bars, yogurt drinks at your grocery store. According to a market analyst, Datamonitor, to date, we have 53 new probiotic foods or drinks that have been distributed to the grocery market. Researchers have shown that dairy products are an effective manor in which to deliver probiotic cultures to make their way to the intestinal tract.
Often, people ask how long they should consume probiotics before they notice a difference. Since the probiotics stay in the colon for short periods of time, it only makes sense that probiotics be used on a continuous basis, to nourish our intestinal inner flora.
Did you know that 70% of the body’s immunity system is based on the digestive system? Clinical research for over 20 years has indicated that probiotics can improve digestive system, promote regularity, reduce the growth of harmful bacteria, enchance the immunce system, and strengthen our natural defence system. These reasons prove just how important probiotic nurturing is such a benefit to healthy living. Interestingly enough, literally translated, Probiotic means “for life”.

Depends where you live.
In big city, in suburbs, in rural areas, in smaller towns.
Cost of living varies greatly, especially rent or purchase price of house.
I understand your concerns but I think you're going about it the wrong way. You're not going to convince a man he needs to change what he eats and does becasue you feel that way or say he should. You should eat like you want to and let him do the same. He is a grown man and has the right to make that decision. I'm sure he likes being told what he should be eating and doing about as much as you would like him telling you to eat like he does. Just understand you are two different people and have different ideas. If he sees how healthy you are eating, he may change his idea on things becasue he wants to but definitely not becasue you are telling him too and fussing about it. Goodluck.
